How the festival operates:

• Choirs are scheduled and perform in pods of three - 15 minute warm-up, 15 minute performance, 30 minute clinic. MAXIUMUM of three pieces.
• We provide a CD with adjudicator commentary, a DVD recording of each choir's performance, written adjudicator comments and a clinic.

Registration Cost: $205 per choir

Audience entry fee:

• $3 donation at the door

• Class 105 Dr. and Mrs. J.F.K. English - Coastal Sound Children’s Choir
• Class 109 Barbara Clark - Coastal Sound Youth Choir

In addition, the Phyllis Schuldt Award for the most outstanding performance in the Choral Classes at the Provincial Festival went to Coastal Sound Youth Choir, (conductor, Carrie Tennant) for ‘Abendlied’ as well as to the Nanaimo Youth Choir (conductor, Marian Smith) for ‘Laudete Dominum’.

Results of the 2011 National Music Festival in Antigonish, NS (August 11-13, 2011)
 

• Coastal Sound Youth Choir (Carrie Tennant, conductor) placed FIRST in competition for Class 109: Barbara Clark.
• The Magee Chamber Choir (Greg Quan, conductor) placed SECOND in competition for Class 103: Paul Bourret
• The Nanaimo Youth Choir, Marian Smith, conductor, representing the Upper Island Festival placed SECOND in competition for Class 106: David Ouchterlony.
