Susan Kadatz graduated with a Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of Victoria where she majored in piano, studying with Bruce Vogt. She continued her musical studies, studying piano pedagogy with Robin Wood, Winnifred Scott Wood, Dr. Michael Redshaw and Susan de Burgh. Inspired by her strong interest in many musical styles, she also studied jazz and improvisation with George Essihos.

Susan's interest in teaching and for sharing her musical insights has been unflagging and she has continually searched for new opportunities for training in the areas of pedagogy, piano practices and musicology. In the last years she has attended master classes led by such luminaries as Colin Tilney, Anton Kuerti, Angela Cheng and Jane Coop.

Susan Kadatz has been teaching piano and theory for 25 years, is a mom to two active young sons and maintains a very busy teaching studio. She has worked collaboratively with choirs and performs occasionally with her husband, saxophonist Troy Kadatz. She is also a member of the BC Registered Music Teacher's Association and her students have been recipients of bursaries and other awards.
